Hi there, and welcome to the Dragon*Con Anime-Manga fan track site! We’re Michael and Shannon, track volunteers and anime devotees in our own right, and over the next few weeks leading up to the con we’ll be providing you with guest announcements and information, the track schedule, and a few anime/manga reviews for your entertainment.
First, a little info about our track and what to expect from it. The anime-manga track consists of guest panels during which con attendees can meet and seek the wisdom and advice of voice talents whose work lies primarily in the anime field, general interest panels hosted by other professionals regarding any number of anime/manga-related topics ranging from the overwhelming quirkiness of Japanese music videos to video editing tips, and a handful of panels geared towards an older audience. The track is centered in the Hyatt, and most panels range from an hour to an hour and a half long. We’ll release a preliminary schedule of panels pretty soon as more information becomes available.
This year’s confirmed track guests are voice talents Brina Palencia, whose extensive list of roles in English-dubbed anime includes Yue of Negima, Black Butler’s Ciel, and (one of Shannon’s favorites) Hideyoshi of Baka and Test, and Chris Sabat, best known for his work with Funimation’s English dub of the Dragonball series (he’s the voice of Vegeta!)
That’s it for our brief introduction, but stay tuned for more track updates and guest and panel announcements. Dragon*Con approaches rapidly, and we hope to see you all there!
